What We Do

The mission and goals of ReEntry Alliance of Louisiana

Our Core Programs:

  • Inmate Re-Entry Support: We offer comprehensive re-entry programs to support formerly incarcerated individuals as they transition back into society. Through job training, educational opportunities, counseling, and mentorship, we equip our participants with the tools they need to rebuild their lives and become productive members of their communities.

  • Civil Rights Legal Assistance: Our dedicated legal team provides expert representation and resources to individuals facing civil rights violations. Whether it’s combating discrimination, protecting free speech, or ensuring fair treatment, we stand by those who seek justice and equality.

  • Support for the Wrongfully Convicted: We are committed to overturning wrongful convictions and providing support to those who have been unjustly imprisoned. Our efforts include legal advocacy, financial aid, and reintegration services to help individuals rebuild their lives and reclaim their freedom.

  • Advocacy Against Forced Pleas: We work tirelessly to expose and combat the practice of coerced or unjust plea bargains. Through legal assistance, public awareness campaigns, and policy advocacy, we aim to reform the justice system and protect the rights of the accused.

  • Hate Crime Prevention: We actively work to prevent and address hate crimes through education, community outreach, and legal support. By fostering understanding and promoting inclusivity, we strive to create a safer and more compassionate society for all.

Food, Clothing, & Housing Assistance

  • Combat Hunger: Ensuring every person has access to nutritious meals. Your donations will help us supply food to recently released individuals & families.
  • Provide Warmth: Offering clothing to those who need it most. From winter coats and shoes to everyday essentials, your support will help us clothe individuals and families, restoring their dignity & confidence.
  • Secure Shelter: Assisting recently released inmates in finding safe, stable housing. Whether through emergency shelters, transitional housing programs, or long-term housing solutions, your donations will help us provide a roof over someone’s head and a place to call home.

Pre-Release Re-Entry Programs

Education and Training: Equip participants with the skills and knowledge they need to secure employment, including job training, resume writing, and interview preparation.

  • Basic Necessities: Supply essential items such as clothing, hygiene products, and transportation assistance to help participants transition smoothly back into society.

We are seeking passionate and dedicated volunteers to join our mission and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:

Mentor and Guide

Provide one-on-one mentorship to program participants, offering guidance, support, and encouragement as they navigate their re-entry journey.

Teach and Empower

Lead workshops and training sessions on various topics such as job readiness, financial literacy, and life skills to equip participants with the tools they need to succeed.

Support and Assist

Help with administrative tasks, event planning, and community outreach efforts to ensure the smooth operation of the program and broaden our impact.

Advocate and Inspire

Raise awareness about the challenges faced by formerly incarcerated individuals and advocate for policies that promote justice and equality.
